The Old Geezer
Mann Twopie was furiously in and out of the karaoke chamber at Santana and I just don't know why, he wasn't really into singalongs nor dancing the while away whenever happenstance dictates that he was with the company of the dangdut consociation. So it was quite a wonder that evening that he willingly agreed to a dangdut night out. As always he could not stay stationary for very long and would always disappear if only for a stroll inside the club or a taking a short teh tarik respite outside. However having his petite laptop always at hand he would persistently do profit and loss accounts cum filling up columns upon columns of totally unattractive figures onto tables and schedules in generic computer files all ready and prepared in the hard drive. Also, an accountant by profession and freelance and wholly mobile at that - Mann prefers solitariness. Yet this time there was neither the expressionless intonation nor the dull and discoloration of a frown upon him. In fact there was a tad of enthusiasm alongside some amusement if to describe! Why? I could not have guessed. Actually Mann was tailing an old chap and one who was opening each and every door to all karaoke chambers lining the medieval maze like corridors innermost Santana Dangdut and Karaoke Lounge. The Old Geezer would be continuously muttering something whilst doing what he did and Mann wanted to go near him to catch the words but he was too amused to do such and only after a few times hurriedly coming in and out of the consociation's singalong room that Mann muster enough courage to ask him. Not that he was fearful but out of respect for the peripatetic Senior. He was quite old and Mann also was afraid that he would be snickering immediately upon The Old Mann replying to his query. He nearly burst out when the Septuagenarian mentioned that he was searching for his GRO or the hostess he booked for the dangdut evening and of whom had been putting on an irksome disappearing act all night. He quipped that she would appear and disappear at will and for such considerable time in between. Most times singing alone that he went out searching for her and sure enough the young girl just appeared in front of them and quickly disappeared into a nearby room an instant later. The Old Fella chased after her. Mann quickly ran to the dangdut consociation's singing chamber and guffawed. Wonder why the Old Man choose to relax in Santana and booked a karaoke singer less than a third his age? Maybe The Missus has only passed or that she is old like him and losing interest and the kids all have children of their own and the wife prefers staying with them and the Oldie was lonely all the time. And money was not a problem having worked and saved for so long and as dusk is nearing: why not enjoy a bit and towards the last. Of course all strength and masculinity have diminished but a little tete a tete with a pretty young thing would do no harm. In Santana, especially, such female company can be arranged. But the hostess he picked found him uncouth and her being near him really awkward. He could change the GRO, all he had to do was inform the Mummy or The Lounge Manageress but why didn't he do that? I was laughing aloud but little realizing that a little bit of time down the road and perhaps still breathing then, I could be very well be The Dirty Old Fella! Hohohohoho!

How many have you?
It was Santana the Club and just after PRU12,I was seated beside a young hostess and she was young, just that I could not remember her name, so I will instead call her Miss X but Miss X can be too impersonal and mechanical or a mere statistic - more than ever. What name must I call her then? Since its winter over yonder why not Helga? But Helga is big and hefty and Helga is muscular too! Yet again Helga can be like a model - all leggy and pretty! Miss X was tall and pretty but not too tall considering her totally Malaysian 'persuasion' but slender and beautiful nonetheless. Helga then, and there was I, she at my side and from where I was I can see her comely countenance all young and with a little whiff of puppy fat - she could not have been 21 but kinda less a bit. I spoke and she listened, boy was I excited not otherwise but like a young schoolboy out on a date with the girl of his dreams. I asked whether he mom knew that she worked as singer in a karaoke hall and she answered of course not but a supermarket in a mall around greater KL or that was what Mum was told. Somehow in her innocence and youth there wasn't much she could spin, only her Mum and as to her general where about in KL. Other than that she blurted what was only in her mind, never knowing how to bluff more than what was required. In that sense that I further prompted her to answer my main question and and one that is based from all her naiveness that she never can hide. However she was so sweet if taken on that regard but she was truthful and spontaneous too. I only want to pull her leg and not meaning what I said. An older girl would give me a strange look and mocking too. But she was young and cute and I could not resist inquiring. I queried whether she wanted to marry me. Without hesitating she answered "How many wives do you have? Meaning how many did I hold at the moment I inquired? Of course only one I said! She just stared back not knowing how to add to the conversation, but I just laughed immediately after. She was still quiet the second later because she meant everything she said. And not suspecting anything besides - she was so so cute and sweet! But I was a bit younger then and still have teeth - now I will always hide my gaping smile! Hohohohoho!

Tea For Two
Wale - wale was lost for words, the total damages for the dangdut evening goes way past the ceiling or the budgeted amount by about one hundred ringgit and a tad more. Since everybody had chipped in and with equal sum - how come the costs exceeded such? Nothing much to opt for but to ask a few of the dangdut consociation members to chip in more and Mikey was magnanimous enough to comply. Allen simply kept quiet and Zack literally dig into his pockets and even turning them inside out just to find the extra coins if any. To peruse over the bills was quite untoward especially in front of the girls so Wale wale kept the receipts to look over later and very much at the risk of the better half discovering them. However he did keep the little documents somewhere very secure before scrutinizing every bit the day after. After observing the small texts and wondering much that I called him. Immediately he queried whether exotic tea plants can be grown in Long Island? I answered perhaps so and in greenhouses like grass grown in disused and dilapidated containers further north. But grass is heavily priced and that is why they are grown surreptitiously but tea can never be outlawed and fetching astronomical figures and at Long island or that they can be so exclusive! No one knows? Deborah ordered three and the bill came to 150 ringgit, mentioned,Wale - wale. Well I heard she said tea to the waitress but I thought it was teh tarik or just hot tea I answered. We were both at lost since we don't drink and literally dry at every aspect of being tipsy or slightly inebriated. Having his smartphone so near that he googled the such cuppa. It was a special cocktail and even potent if consumed one too many. Strange but Deborah must have inquired about ordering her drinks from Allen and he must have said yes but how to refuse a girl and a pretty one at that. Even Wale wale and myself would have been suckered. She sat with Allen the entire length of the evening and we just let it be at that because we observed Allen's grinning incessantly beside her but he must at least volunteered to top up a bit more the entire costs due to that special tea. Howsoever he is a teetotaler and could have only heard - like me - the 'tea' word when Deborah asked. The bloody Tea! Hohoho!

Out Of Love Again But Contented At That
Strange that T.J would always be grinning away when Sherry took to the concourse with me,in fact every time that I was in the Dancing Hall. How could a contemporary club enthusiast be smirking incessantly in a joget house? Or that he had found another pastime to fill the evenings,he was endowed of course and with plenty of greenbacks to bandy about - that I knew very well of - but he wasn't even prancing, only smiling all the time. And he was alone too and much comfortable in the little corner at the edge of the hall. I on the other hand had an eye for Sherry and actually wanted to propose that very evening. The ring is already purchased - a light and petite gold ring without ornaments and only for asking and would be presented nonetheless even though the girl declined. Oh! How lovely Sherry was,the curves, the movements;making me more and more enamored each time she whizzed and swirled the catchy ditties. Veritably I was in seventh heaven and finds hard to contain my excitement when the time comes to confirm our love. A single girl, she was quite every dangdut fan's dream girl and I feel the luckiest that delightful night. She too felt for me or that I can just sense that and from her words and her eyes. To say that she had mastered the Hostesses art of mystifying is just not fair as she is too young and too beautiful and there is a certain innocence about her - I just know. The songs and the dance stopped for the DJ to take over, alongside the soft sentimental numbers accompanying. Quite hurriedly I made my way to our table with Sherry strolling nonchalantly behind but lo and behold T.J was already seated there. Why was he at the table since I did not even invite him let alone talked to him each time I noticed him in the hall? But being an acquaintance and from a while back, I smiled and even acted surprised over his sudden appearance. Being always jolly,he was laughing all the way but earnestly said sorry for intruding alongside a couple of times mentioning so. Sherry was strangely quiet and positioned herself immediately beside T.J at the table. Although nothing was said but I had correctly guessed that T.J had proposed first and I was a bit late and for a second or two before T.J asked. Sherry even confessed to that. However I was not too surprised and even took things happily as T.J was always the nice chap and never confrontational nor threatening and I quite respect him. He wanted to make an honest woman out of Sherry and so did I but being fair to her - she deserved the finer man. And one who was better prepared to start a new life. I even attended the wedding.
