Young Melinda wiped her tears for the umpteenth time and each time the tears flow even more but this time she had to tell Herman for she could no longer hide from him. He has been too good to her all this while and has not even touched let alone kiss her on the cheeks. She loves Herman and Herman loves her,somehow on that score there wasn't doubt as to that position. Even though a bit younger than her Dad, Herman is as kind and understanding chap and loves her, perhaps, as the same as what her father can feel. But Herman can be a tad more that he wants to share a life with her. And she too finds Herman pleasing and in fact had fallen for him fully and wholesomely but couldn't at first accept him more than a friend but found love later and could not be deterred any more. Because even though he is much much older but after some time she made up her mind to accept him fully. They had confessed their feelings towards each other and only about to make arrangements to make formal their relationship that her kinsfolk wanted her to patch up with her ex fiance. Her parents wanted her to be happy but the elders in her clan insisted on inter clan goodwill. And her ex fiance too has mended his ways and truly repentant,her even begged her to take him back and even solemnly promised to be her slave, more than ever. The clan being strict with customs pleaded with her to comply. She reluctantly agreed but had to tell Herman. Yet, Herman being a gentleman and much older too has no objections,he even comforts her to accept things as fate even though his love for her will never cease. No tears came to him and they sort of broke communications after that. Except that he received her wedding invitation and attended - even, although alone that he drove up 350 kilometers. He managed to see her  upon the wedding platform and how beautiful and resplendent was she. She signaled to him from afar to take some blessings from the union and that was a kind of prepared take away - wedding dishes - elaborately prepared. On the way back and driving alone also, Herman entirely lost his composure, he cried all the way to Kay El!
