Cerita - cerita 2013 3 - A Friend's Tale

My friend had a long distance relationship and with a lady he had not actually met but a strange thing that he confessed of having tender thoughts for her. And so it happened that he wanted to make legal their companionship should circumstances permit. Thenceforth the numerous phone calls everyday plus the lovey lovey one just before bedtime that he had to surreptitiously sneaked out of the house just to hear her voice before sleep. The poor Missus though never suspects a thing even after the affair fades as my buddy has this superior quality of putting on a poker face regardless of any situations. It happened then, the long gone sentiments that flooded back or a massive deluge overpowering his entire being. They wanted to meet but work and family on his part and work alone on the other woman kept them apart. Until as time and distance dictate the fire fizzles. However being the utterly passionate fellow he wanted the relationship to still persist even though losing much of the passion as at initial. One day he decided to see her, 300 kilometers away, hoping to bluff the better half and in whatever way should she called to inquire. But before doing so, he called the other woman just to ascertain that she should not be outstation when he arrived. Yet, her answer was for him not to come as she was too busy with deadlines and her Boss insisting on some work cases needed to be closed. A little bit frustrated that he visited another friend - a confidante and a street wise old girl. Strictly not a street walker but a woman much knowledgeable of the travails of Kay El life and of emotions and sentiments persisting in her(Kuala Lumpur). A long time Hostess in a long forgotten club but still existing. Well, he confided in her and only after a few minutes of listening, she said "the other woman already has someone in mind and definitely not my friend"! The dear buddy was disappointed but not to the point of being devastated as he had guessed all along but still needed to know even from someone not entirely connected. Somewhat a middle aged bloke still wants to hear of hope when he is wise enough to second guess as to none! Love can make fools of anybody! hoho
